Après des études aux Beaux Arts dans le Nord de la France et à la suite d'une première collaboration avec Arnaud Desplechin sur "Comment je me suis disputé..." il y a 20 ans, Elsa pharaon se spécialise en casting sauvage pour le cinéma.Elle est installée depuis en proche banlieue parisienne et a travaillé notamment avec des réalisateurs tel que Mia Hansen-Love, Christophe Honoré, Asghar Farhadi, Léos Carax, Aki Kaurismaki, Quentin Dupieux, les Klotz...Elle intervient sur des films où les personnages principaux sont des enfants, des adolescents, ou des profils singuliers que l’on ne trouve pas en agence de comédiens.Elle est à l'origine du premier casting de Rod Paradot ou encore Oulaya Amamra, récompensés tous deux par un César de meilleur révélation.En 2016, elle a reçu au Festival de Locarno, "the first European Casting Director Award".Elle vient de soutenir un mémoire à Sciences Po avec les félicitations du jury sur le numérique pour réfléchir à une solution digitale pour améliorer le casting sauvage.
